This watercolor depicts an overripe cotton boll as a metaphor for professional integrity and quiet mastery. I chose cotton because it gives so much to the world—fabric, paper, and the material foundations of everyday life—while remaining modest and unassuming. For me, this form represents a professional who knows their value without arrogance, who gives themselves fully to their work until the very end. The falling seeds suggest continuity: effort does not disappear but reaches fertile ground and continues to bear fruit. This work is a tribute to honest professionals, whose unseen dedication moves humanity forward and makes life safer, better, and more humane.
