In my artistic journey, I find inspiration in Taiwan’s rich botanical diversity, incorporating indigenous flora and everyday plants (such as medicinal herbs and dye-producing species) into my creative palette. As lifestyles and gardening preferences evolve, these botanical companions gradually fade from view, receding into the background. Nevertheless, they persist quietly by our side. Through my art, I aim to rekindle an awareness of these plants, fostering curiosity and reflection on their deep connection to the land. Ultimately, I hope to heighten consciousness of the natural world and advocate for the preservation of our precious island home.

Born in Taiwan, Hui-Ting graduated with a master's degree in chemistry in 2008 and has had a long career in this field. In her academic and professional journey, she has seldom explored the realm of drawing, except for the occasional rendering of chemical structures. However, the sudden emergence of the pandemic altered the lively rhythm of daily life. With more time on her hands, she found comfort in observing plants, witnessing their growth, and savoring the ever-changing seasons, reveling in the beauty of life's cycles. It was during this period of reflection that the idea to document these enchanting experiences dawned on her. In 2022, a new chapter unfolded as she undertook and successfully completed an introductory course in botanical art offered by TABA (Taiwan Botanical Art Association). She was thrilled to join TABA, marking the beginning of a deeper immersion into this art form. Nowadays, alongside tending to plants in her leisure hours, observation, documentation, and drawing have effortlessly integrated into the essence of her being.
