Black Elder (Sambus nigra) is a fast-growing shrub, 3-7 meters high, known as a native member of the honeysuckle family (Caprifoliaceae). It is characterized by pinnate leaves, intensely fragrant, creamy-white flat-topped cymes (May-June), and purple-black berries in autumn. The plant is considered a valuable source of food for birds and insects.

The Turkish hazel (Corylus colurna) is a robust deciduous tree, reaching up 20 m in height, native to Southeast Europe/Asia Minor, which impresses with its conical crown und corky bark. As an extremely heat- and drought-tolerant "climate tree" it is ideal for urban spaces. It is ecologically valuable, non-toxic, and provides food for squirrels.
