Chiming Tai is a botanical artist, wildlife artist, and visual designer from Taiwan. He grew up surrounded by Taiwan’s diverse natural landscapes, where his interest in plants, wildlife, and art began at an early age. This curiosity led him to pursue a degree in Visual Communication Design and later work as an art planner and designer—experiences that shaped both his visual thinking and his approach to storytelling. In 2017, Chiming co-founded the art studio Hopeful Garden with his wife. This marked an important turning point, bringing together his interests in design, fine art, and ecological awareness within a single creative practice.
 

Through painting, Chiming reconnects with his native land. His work focuses on Taiwan’s endemic and native species and is grounded in the careful observation of living forms. He seeks to raise awareness and inspire action toward nature through art. For Chiming, painting is an ongoing and joyful experiment—one that embraces continuous exploration and the expressive potential of diverse materials. He primarily works with watercolor, colored pencil, and graphite, often combined with ink, Eastern ink, and acrylic to achieve layered visual richness.
 

Since 2023, Chiming has actively participated in international botanical art exhibitions. He was awarded First Place (Taiwan) in Botanical Art Worldwide 2025 – Crop Diversity, and his work is regularly selected for SBA open exhibitions. Moving forward, he aims to further bridge the gap between art, design, and botanical storytelling on a global stage.
