This work explores the castor plant Ricinus communis, known for its bold leaves and delicate flowering structure. I was drawn to the contrast between its broad, structured form and the finer details within the plant. Through close observation, I focused on light, tone, and texture to reveal its form and presence. Light plays an important role in expressing its depth and quiet vitality.
