Ink on scratchboard
h: 51 w: 28 d: 1 (cms).
This artwork of an Australian native, Sturt's Nightshade (Solanum sturtianum) was done using scratchboard techniques on a scratchboard panel. Layers of coloured ink were added and scratched into to bring to life the attractive silvery-green foliage, delicate purple flowers and plump yellow fruit. Although it looks very similar to the edible bush tomato Solanum centrale, this is not a plant to be ingested, as it's highly poisonous to humans and animals.
£2950 (As exhibited.)

Scratchboard
h: 30 w: 30 d: 1 (cms).
This artwork of the Australian native dwarf specimen of lemon-scented ironbark (Eucalyptus staigeriana) was completed on a scratchboard panel using scratchboard techniques. This tree is one of my favourites in our garden - every January it becomes heavy with honey-scented blossoms that bring in a diverse array of pollinators from miles around!
