Muscari are among the first spring flowers, gently reminding us that winter is ending and nature is awakening. They mark a new beginning in the life cycle of plants, a quiet shift of seasons and moods. Like all living things, Muscari move through their own cycle: taking root, sending up shoots, forming buds, blooming, and eventually fading away to rest beneath the soil - only to return and bloom again the following year. In this work, I set out to reveal not only what meets the eye above the ground, but also the hidden part of the plant - the foundation of its life, unseen yet essential.

The illusory matter - a labyrinth of connections and symbiosis, much like the hidden harmony of lichens, where fungus and alga coexist as one. This work reflects on that delicate balance, where illusion, life and creation quietly intertwine. Oakmoss (Evernia prunastri) changes its appearance with humidity and sunlight. Even in winter, when the world turns grey and still, its greenish-turquoise labyrinths catch the eye, revealing nature’s quiet resilience and beauty.
