This work depicts a daylily not as a static subject, but as a moment within a living cycle. The central bloom is fully open and assertive, rendered in saturated reds with a warm golden throat that suggests inner luminosity. The petals curve with subtle irregularity, emphasizing organic movement over idealized symmetry. Surrounding it is a progression of stages: tightly closed buds, flowers in full bloom, and those already fading - curled and darkening. This juxtaposition shifts the focus from pure aesthetics to temporality, placing peak vitality and decline within a single composition. The color palette is nuanced, ranging from bright scarlet to deep burgundy, with delicate veining that enhances a tactile sense of structure. The light, neutral background removes distraction, allowing form and natural rhythm to remain central.
